Native Orchid Conference

The purpose of the Native Orchid Conference is to foster the study, conservation, and enjoyment of the native orchids of the United States and Canada. The NOC is a non-profit [501(c)3] organization that is incorporated in North Carolina. The NOC publishes a quarterly journal, holds an annual orchid conference in different areas of North America, and runs a forum on Yahoo groups.  Membership is open to all.

In 2004 the organization started the publication of a quarterly Journal.  Tables of Content from prior issues are located in the FILES section on the NOC Yahoo groups web site.
The annual NOC conferences are organized to share scientific and casual information on our native orchids and endeavor to be responsive to the needs and desires of both the scientist and the lay person. Our conferences are structured to have meeting days for presentations and organize field trips to local, native orchid sites.
The NOC Yahoo group web site (https://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/NativeOrchidConference/)  was developed for members to share information on our native orchids. Membership to the site is free and allows you to post to and see un-moderated messages from others of the group.
To participate in the forum and access different areas of the site you must sign in with a Yahoo ID and password. If you do not have a Yahoo ID you can create one on your first visit by clicking on New User? Sign Up in the upper left corner.  As you investigate the Native Orchid Conference home page you will notice that there is a link towards the upper left corner labeled "Edit My Membership." By clicking on this link you can set your preference on how/or if you would like to have the site communicate with you. The default has been set so that you will receive an email every time someone posts a message on the site.
